A Timeline of Growth, Innovation, and Commitment

1964 – In March, Violette Motors Ltd opens its doors at 40 Court Street, transitioning from Dominion Motors. This humble beginning marked the start of what would become a long-standing commitment to serving drivers across the region.

1966 – Following the acquisition of the Mercury franchise, the dealership moves to 75 Queen Street. From this point forward, Violette Motors is recognized as the only dealership in North-West New Brunswick to carry the full Ford-Mercury line—a major regional distinction.

1985 – A major interior renovation refreshed the offices and showroom, reflecting growth and a renewed focus on customer experience.

1988 – Expansion continues with a new body and mechanical shop in the Industrial Park, enhancing our ability to serve customers with precision and care.

1999 – The service shop grows again, adding space and launching an Express Service for oil changes and quick maintenance—speed and quality now part of everyday service.

2002 – Our customers continue to show remarkable loyalty, with strong annual sales in both new and used vehicles—a testament to trust earned over years of consistent service.

2004 – We celebrated our 40th anniversary alongside the 40th anniversary of the Ford Mustang, hosting our first Mustang Show in Edmundston—a joyful event that united car enthusiasts from near and far.

2006 – Violette Motors acquires Hybrid Certification, stepping into the future of automotive technology and responding to changing customer expectations.

2010–2011 – Our showroom undergoes expansion to include new offices and enhanced vehicle displays, elevating the space to match the caliber of service we deliver.

2014 – The company proudly celebrates 50 years of operation—a half-century rooted in steadfast service and community trust.

2016 – A new chapter begins
2016 marked the foundation of what would become our new facility at GreyRock—a decisive step toward the future. That same year also brought the acquisition and creation of Violette Ford (2016) Inc., strengthening our structure and preparing the next generation of growth.

2024 – 60 years: celebrating the people behind the name
In 2024, we proudly celebrated our 60th anniversary, and took a moment to honour Michel and Johanne Violette, whose steady support and commitment helped carry the business forward through decades of change.
This year also represented a major leap in modernization: Violette Motors electrified the entire facility, including a significantly improved shop designed for today’s vehicles and tomorrow’s technology. We also moved forward with electrification—adding public EV charging, including the fastest chargers in the region, and ensuring every technician bay is EV-ready, reflecting our commitment to service excellence and future mobility.

2025 – Opening the doors to the future
2025 became a defining year as Violette Ford Inc opened the doors to its new facility. This milestone was made possible through strong leadership and forward planning—Michel Violette and François were closely involved in foreseeing and guiding the construction and operational transition, ensuring the move was executed with purpose, precision, and pride.

2026 – 62 years and still building
Now in 2026, we celebrate 62 years of history—not as a finish line, but as proof of what’s possible when a business grows with its community, invests in its people, and stays focused on what matters most: trust, service, and long-term relationships.
